Frequently Asked Questions and Policy Reminders
What do I wear for a massage?
You can wear whatever you like for your massage. Most people undress down to their underwear or less, but some choose to keep on different articles. Your modesty will always be protected and only the part that is being worked on will be exposed. Table has a warmer on it and a blanket if you get cool, and if too warm the warmer can be turned off and the blanket removed, but not the sheet.
General Rule: Clothing is optional. Draping is not! (Any attempts to remove drape or expose yourself will result in termination of session and banning from followup services.)
I've been places for a "60 minute massage session" and didn't get a whole hour. What is the deal with that?
When you book a massage with me, you are reserving a time slot for 30, 60, 75, or 90 minutes- which is the length of contact time for your massage. Some places sell you a session- which means that intake, undressing and dressing time are all included in your "session length". In order to stay on time, I do ask that you arrive a few minutes before your massage and take care of necessities before your session starts. If you do not arrive promptly, then your massage may be shortened in order to keep my next clients on time. I strive for timely appointments, unlike most doctor offices. (LOL)
POLICIES:
Cancellation/No Show:
A 24-hour notice is required for cancellation of an appointment, or you will be charged one half the service cost of your appointment or $15 for services under $30. Payment is due before your next appointment. Payment may be required in order to book an appointment.
Tardiness:
Appointment times are as scheduled and cannot extend beyond the stated time to accommodate late arrivals. Please be on time to your appointment.
Sickness:
Massage/bodywork is not appropriate care for infectious or contagious illness. Please cancel your appointment as soon as you are aware of an infectious or contagious condition. If it is within the 24-hour notice period, the cancellation fee may be waived.
Consent For Treatment:
If I experience any pain or discomfort during this session, I will immediately inform the practitioner so that the pressure and/or strokes may be adjusted to my level of comfort. I further understand that massage/bodywork should not be construed as a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment and that I should see a physician, chiropractor, or other qualified medical specialist for any mental or physical ailment of which I am aware. I understand that massage/bodywork practitioners are not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, prescribe, or treat any physical or mental illness, and that nothing said in the course of the session given should be construed as such. Because massage/bodywork should not be performed under certain medical conditions, I affirm that I have stated all my known medical conditions and answered all questions honestly. I agree to keep the practitioner updated as to any changes in my medical profile and understand that there shall be no liability on the practitioner’s part should I fail to do so.
Non-Sexual Nature of Treatment:
I understand that any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks or advances made by me or attempts to expose genitals will result in immediate termination of the session, and I will be liable for payment of the scheduled appointment.
